Nourish a Neighbor: Summer Shack Cambridge x Cambridge Community Center Food Pantry
This holiday season, Summer Shack Cambridge is proud to continue its more than 10-year partnership with the Cambridge Community Center Food Pantry. Together, we’re launching Nourish a Neighbor—a simple, joyful way to help local families enjoy nutritious meals now and throughout the year. As a Cambridge seafood institution with a “Food is Love” philosophy, we believe celebration includes caring for our neighbors and strengthening our community.
What began as a local effort to give back has grown each year—and this season, we’re going bigger than ever. Through Nourish a Neighbor, 100% of all proceeds go directly to the Cambridge Community Center Food Pantry, helping provide essential groceries and support to households in our city. Every gift—large or small—makes a real difference right here in Cambridge.
How Nourish a Neighbor Works
We’ve made it easy to participate in the way that works best for you. Choose one—or all—of the options below to share the love:
- Donate online: Make a secure donation directly to the Food Pantry at cambridgecc.org/nourishaneighbor.html.
- Drop off nonperishables: Bring canned goods, dry goods, or other nonperishable food items to Summer Shack Cambridge at 149 Alewife Brook Parkway. We’ll ensure every item reaches the Food Pantry quickly and safely.
- Give in person at the Shack: After you dine, let your server know you’d like to add a custom donation amount to your check. 100% of proceeds are directed to the Food Pantry to support local families.
Whether you’re donating from home, adding a gift to your check, or stopping by with pantry staples, you’re helping put fresh, nourishing food on your neighbors’ tables.
Why This Partnership Matters in Cambridge
Community is at the heart of everything we do. For over two decades, Summer Shack Cambridge has welcomed families, friends, and seafood lovers to gather and celebrate. Partnering with the Cambridge Community Center Food Pantry aligns with our New England tradition and our belief that fresh, daily nourishment is a right—not a luxury. Together, we can meet urgent needs during the holiday season and help sustain the Pantry’s vital work beyond it.
By participating in Nourish a Neighbor, you’re supporting a trusted local organization serving Cambridge households with dignity and care. Your generosity helps ensure consistent access to nutritious food—and it reminds our neighbors that this city cares for its own.
Plan Your Visit to the Shack
If you’re dropping off items or making an in-person donation, you’ll find us in the Alewife neighborhood at 149 Alewife Brook Parkway—an easy stop before or after your day around Fresh Pond. Stay for a meal and raise a toast to community with our shucked-to-order oysters, live Maine lobsters, and daily fresh catches. Every day feels like summer here, and every visit is a chance to share the celebration.
